Jen is the kind of trainer who never gives up on you and always pushes you to do what you are capable of.
A good trainer makes you want to work out. A great trainer makes you do the exercies you hate. Finally, a fantastic trainer makes you laugh and have fun while you are doing the exercises you hate (burpees). That’s what Jen is, a fantastic trainer. Along with being a fantastic trainer Jen is sweet, upbeat, caring, and an enthusiastic person. She is the type of trainer who will get you to keep coming back to the gym because you want to get better and you know you can with her help, even if getting better means enduring burpees, ridiculously high box jumps, and kettlebell jump squats.
Jen is the kind of trainer who never gives up on you and always pushes you to do what you are capable of, even if you yourself don’t think you are capable of it. She is a wonderful trainer because she knows how to break down movements into smaller increments and she knows hundreds of ways to make movements easier or more challenging. If I had endless amounts of money I would hire her every day because I know I would accomplish my goals that much faster and I know I would have a blast doing it.
Jennifer Tavernier has completely changed the way I see my body and it’s capabilities. I am a 45 year old woman who tried strength training for the first time with Jennifer and she has showed me just a glimpse of what I am able to do with the proper training. I have the upmost respect for what she has accomplished and what she is able to share with those interested in bettering their health and fitness. She always makes sure I am comfortable yet pushes me to set goals and gives me the tools to meet them!
Since working with Jennifer, I have been able to do things I never thought possible, with success! I one hundred ten percent recommend Jennifer to anyone looking to improve their strength and expand their capabilities! She is the REAL DEAL!
Okay straight up facts here folks: I’m 41 years old, mother, work full-time, have two crazy busy kids (ages 15 & 10), so on my own it took me 10 years to lose baby weight, started running 5k’s with my teenager 6 years ago to facilitate weight loss because I love to eat (pizza, pasta, bring it!), have major gym phobias (looking like an idiot amongst super fit people), say the word ‘sit-up’ & I throw up in my mouth just a little, so a big hater of core strengthening period. Not a fan of anything repetitive with free weights, machines that are complicated to use & just out to kill me.
My idea of fun is sky diving, rock climbing, volleyball, obstacle anything, trapeze, parkour etc.., & of course with most of that if you’re not ‘fit’ or ‘strong’ it’s just asking for a major injury. Then a dear friend happened upon Jen, and BAM, a missing piece of the puzzle in my life shifted into place. Jen is high energy, oozes positivity, is super strong & knows precisely how to annihilate a person’s fears. All this wrapped up into a mere 5ft little gal, she’s short like me, yep we’re kindred like that J!
My first session with her I think we used one machine for its intended purpose, otherwise we were all over the place mostly using our own bodies resistance to work out. I had never laughed so hard & not once felt inadequate, simply to time for it. I walked out completely drenched with almost no ability to drive myself home, whatever puny muscles I had were like jelly, yet I was BEYOND elated. Weird right? She has a canny way of not only building YOU up, but bringing you awareness to pay it forward to others, we as a whole do not support each other enough. Jen can take you anywhere, literally anywhere, & show you that a workout can mean using just about anything within your current environment.
We’ve done mother-daughter sessions at a park which was incredibly hard but super rewarding in seeing what you can do on even the most basic playground equipment, trust me, it will blow your mind! She has literally taken me in mere months, to such a level that on a recent NYC girls weekend get-away I was able to rock it out at trapeze school, stunt school jumping off scaffolding onto crash mats, and still complete a 5 mile race through Central Park on top of blitzing the whole city site seeing. We were still able to board that plane home without needing wheel chair assistance, this would not have possible without her!
I don’t care who you are or what your limitations are, whether you’ve old injuries or new ones, no time in your day, or whatever other obstacles you’ve cooked up in your mind that prevents you from reaching your own dreams. Jen will work around all that to show you it’s possible, commit to something, choose one thing you want to do and know that it’ll require hard work, stick with it & set a realistic time frame to do it in and she’ll get you there. I too have zero free time in my life, my own physical limitations, motivation issues but she found a way to give me something I will STICK with my whole life, long-term tools to keep me moving, priceless. I would love to go on and on but seriously, facts are facts & I can’t lay it out more clearly that this gal is the real deal! I literally get chills thinking about the bleak existence I’d still be in had she not popped into my life, that it was beyond epic.
So if you’re tired of the failed resolutions each year, ready for a rock your world, all the cool kids are doing it, positive life changing experience? If yes, they hey, I totally know a gal!!!
I always thought that personal training was way too much money for something I could do on my own. But, I have high hopes of competing on American Ninja Warrior and decided to give Jennifer Tavernier a try. I’m so glad I did. I have been blown away by the results after only a few months:
– I started off doing 3 pullups and now I’m up to 9
– My body fat has dropped 5%
– I can complete obstacles now that I wasn’t even close to completing before, namely: the salmon ladder, warped wall, and the cliff hanger.
She pushes me harder than I can push myself. She corrects my form and modifies my technique. From an aspiring American Ninja Warrior contestant, her obstacle specific training has been essential to my success. She starts me where I’m at and breaks down completing an obstacle into obtainable steps so I’m able to build up to it.
I’m so glad that I decided to give personal training with Jen Tavernier a try. So worth the money!
